New CEO at Christopher Kane, Bottega Veneta

CHRISTOPHER KANE has a new CEO. The brand has enlisted Sarah Crook - formerly of Stella McCartney - as its new chief executive, replacing Alexandre de Brettes.

De Brettes was appointed in July 2013, following the brand's acquisition by Kering, with the move seen as the beginning of Kane's development from London design talent to international brand.

"I would like to warmly thank Alexandre de Brettes for his dedication to Christopher Kane and for having successfully accomplished the integration of the brand within the Kering group," Marco Bizzarri, CEO of Kering's luxury couture and leather goods division, told WWD. Crook - who latterly acted as a strategic brand and business consultant to the British Fashion Council - has consulted with several other luxury brands and was lauded today by Bizzarri for her merchandising and commercial skills.

The move is not the only Kering job swap announced today, as Bottega Veneta also has a new CEO, in the form of Carlo Alberto Beretta, formerly retail development director at Ermenegildo Zegna.
